Permanent zoning for an explosives storage and distribution facility in East Luther Grand Valley near Luther Marsh appears to be moving ahead with an open house by the proponent March 3 and a public meeting to follow on April 14. TC Helps Purchase New Robot

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Department’s bomb squad will use $57,000 in donated funds to help buy a remote-controlled robot. “From our Office of Homeland Security grant of more than $200,000, the $57,000 had to be used for improvised explosive devices, but since we don’t have any we thought it would be best to give the funds to the Shasta County bomb squad, which provides its services to Tehama County,” Tehama County Sheriff Clay Parker said. “This was a way for us to show our gratitude for the services they have given us.” More
